Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Due to the nature of the route—navigating uneven stones and narrow medieval paths—we class the standard tour as wheelchair unfriendly.
However, we want these stories to be heard. If you have specific mobility requirements, please get in touch; we can often organize a modified, more accessible version of the tour for your group.
Times, Price & Meeting Point
We depart promptly at 8:00 PM every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The meeting point is Colston Avenue, BS1.
Tickets are £15 per person for a 1 hour and 45 minute experience.
What makes this different?
No amateur dramatics. No costumes. Just a sharp slice of the city's most interesting and unsettling past.
What stories will I hear?
We cover the horror hidden in a port church, the defiance of Brave Dorothy Hazard, and the truth of the Broad Street Riot.
You will see the site of the last public execution in Bristol and learn the consequences of the "Kill the Bill" riots.
Is it suitable for children?
The content is focused on gritty and unsettling history, including tales of executions, murders, and riots. While there are no actors in masks, the subject matter is dark and intended for those comfortable with mature historical themes.
Will we see the Vicious Chicken of Bristol?
I hope not.
Will we see a ghost?
Noooooooooo. We focus on real history. Between public punishments and the bones beneath our streets, the truth is haunting enough.
